Costa Rica Wrap-up

Well Costa Rica, we are pretty happy to get the hell out of here. Costa Rica is an amazingly beautiful country with ecological riches beyond compare if you are able to see behind the gate and around the ticket booth. It is the shining gilded trash can of westernization in Central America and encompasses most of the qualities that we hated from home while lacking the charm of the other Central American countries we have been to. It could be our own jaded view coming from a glorious time in Nicaragua, and I am sure a fantastic time can be had in CR but it just wasn´t there for us. Read the rest of this entry »

Nicaragua Wrap-up

It is no stretch to say that Nicaragua has been our favorite place on the trip thus far. Even though it tried to kill us more than once we love it anyway! Even the worst of Nicaragua was a great adventure.  We had so much fun motorcycling around Ometepe, relaxing on the back beaches in San Juan, enjoying the sounds of the streets in Granada and eating the best breakfast ever made at The Garden Cafe. But what I think we will remember most about Nicaragua and what will most definitely see us coming back is the absolute generosity and warmth of the people there. From a more honest than most taxi driver in Managua to the lady selling chicken and gallo pinto on the street, everyone we met in Nicaragua was nice without regard. Read the rest of this entry »

Guatemala Wrap-up

Though we didn´t have much time in Guatemala (unscheduled visit) we packed in quite a bit of action while we were there. We fell in love with Antigua (and its coffee), hiked an active volcano, stood so close to flowing lava that the heat would burn your skin, and probably best of all we walked… alone… through the great ruins of Tikal. Honduras Wrap-up

Wow, first country down. We really enjoyed (parts of) Honduras. Roatan was fantastic and exactly what we had hoped for. Copan and Las Sepulturas were a real treat. We made some great freinds and had a fantastic time hanging out with them and meeting their families. The hospitality of the Hondurans in general is one of the most beautiful things about the country. Everyone we met was more than friendly and helpful even when we were surely frustrating to deal with because of our lack of spanish. Read the rest of this entry »
