Day 3: Roatan, Honduras
Today the PADI scuba course began! We got up early to start the scuba training. Lots of book work this morning before we got out into the water in the afternoon. The book work is really easy but there are lots of terms to remember. We watched a few videos to go along with the book as well. It was a pretty tiring day but lots of fun. Day 1: La Ceiba, Honduras
We finally got our Taca boarding pass at around 2:30 in the morning after an uncomfortable couple of hours in the back end of the airport. As you probably can tell by our twitter updates (which are as up to date as it gets) we have already arrived in Honduras. Internet access is flaky at best and our internet time is limited. New posts should come in every 2 or 3 days but they will tend to be a week or so behind which gives us some room in case of a long term internet free zone. If we can find some internet access today expect our thursday and maybe friday post tomorrow.
Until then, all is well here. We arrived alive and are currently trying to find our way to a beach!

Earlier this morning, I (Lin) did something that officially brought to a close all the work I’ve been doing for the past 3 1/2 years: I graduated college!! Funny that all I seem to have to show for my hard work is an empty red binder and a very, very large tuition bill. Read the rest of this entry »

Well today was my (Saben’s) last day of work and I feel a little strange about it. I have never been unemployed since my first job almost a decade ago and have always thought of my job (this one or previous ones) as a way to classify myself. Read the rest of this entry »

Lindsey spent most of the day today prepping the house for departure. It’s amazing how much stuff you accumulate over the course of a few short years. We actually leave our house on Dec. 23rd and have an overwhelming amount of stuff to get done before then. Read the rest of this entry »
