Skies of Blue
November 28-30, 2009 – Day 338-340 – Palolem Beach, Goa, India
It has been a glorious few days here at Palolem. The sky is bright blue, the sun feels perfect and the water is just cool enough to reward basking in the sun.

Washed ashore
Granted it is busy with tourists, crowded with sun beds and restaurants, and nearly overrun with touts. Still it is a lovely town and a good beach for families, couples, older tourists, groups of friends and anyone in between.

Through the trees
The town is lined with souvenir shops, restaurants, and guest houses. You will find several snack stands that carry biscuits, crackers, water, or sunscreen—pretty much whatever your basic beach needs are, you can find here. The biggest downside is the number of touts. Yes, they are just trying to make a living but it does get very irritating when you are seeking the peace and quiet of the ocean’s waves and all you hear is “Sarongs, madame? CDs, sir? Drum, you want drum, nice price. Jewelry, books, boat trip to see dolphins….” and on and on and on! Even still, Palolem Beach is the most beautiful of all the Goan beaches we have been to.
