Always look on the bright side of life…
November 20, 2009 – Day 330 – Arambol Beach, Goa, India
Arambol Beach is a lovely, quiet beach. We enjoyed a long day in the sun and perfect water. It’s great for swimming since the sandbar goes out so far and the waves are typically calm. We started our day off with a champion’s breakfast: an omlette, toast, and fresh pineapple juice.

Our palm frenged walk to the beach
Not content to just lay around, we took a walk down the long stretch of beach. Before we even realized it we had reached Mandrem Beach. It took about 30 minutes to walk at a leisure pace. Mandrem Beach is not all that different from Arambol. It has the same beautiful palms swaying between beach and “town,” there are very few tourist or touts, and the overall atmosphere is even more quiet and peaceful than Arambol’s already laid back attitude. We watched a pretty sunset on Mandrem before heading back for some delicious dinner at the restaurant across from our guest house.

Glorious sunset
Our menu: prawns fried rice and, a less traditional dish, hummus, chapati, and salad. For dessert, we had picked up a mini watermelon (about size of a canteloupe) and ate until we felt like our stomachs would burst at any second. This is the life we live!

damn bro I guess I just need to win the lottery! I want to be in your shoes. Too bad the USMC doesn’t send us places like that, instead I’m going to Afghan in April, sounds exciting doesn’t it. Well it’ll be nice to see you all when you get back but until then enjoy the rest of this amazing trip
