A pistol sword–now that’s a great weapon
November 1-3, 2009 – Day 311-313 – Jodhpur, India
Well, it certainly does not feel like a typical November day for us. By now we would be happily welcoming the cool weather that comes just before a snowy winter. Instead, we are at the edge of the desert in a hot, dusty city enjoying “cold drinks!” as often as possible.

Huge Angry Cow always gets the right of way
The first day we spent on the bus getting to Jodhpur from Jaipur. The next day we visited the market and enjoyed some famously delicious samosas while admiring the colorful wares for sale under the desert sun. Finally, on the third we visited the fort.

Tasty Flaming Samosas
It was the most decorative of the forts we have seen and was in very good shape. There was a beautiful room where the Maharajah would sit on some plush carpets and soft pillows with some brilliant paintings covering the ceiling and walls.

Inside the fort
The armory was pretty extensive and housed some of the coolest weapons we have seen. There was even a sword with a single-shot pistol built into the hilt and a small spike dagger in case those 2 things failed you! And that’s not to mention the rows of cannons lining the top of the fort. Pretty cool place to visit.

It's a bird, It's a plane... no wait it's a cannon
